Water Temp Gauge quit working after I was "cleaning up" wires on the fire wall. A wire comes off of the unit (attached to the block) and disappears into the wire harness, I traced it to the end of the wire and I found that it was un-clipped. My problem is that I cannot find out where it plugs into? I looked for about an hour today and got fed up. Sometime the most simple things huh????:doah:

does anyone know where that wire should plug into?

mine plugs into the sensor which is right below the exhaust manifold, between the first two spark plugs on the driver side.

I'm pretty certain it goes straight into the instrument panel connector after going through the firewall connector.

What's the end look like you are dealing with?

the wire from the unit itself is brown/tan colored, with a brown connector on the end. I believe it connects onto another wire somewhere but I can't find one. I might have to see if I burnt a wire in two???
Where on the firewall does temp gauge wire go through?

Goes through the firewall connector. I'd check if I were at my truck to look. Someone might be able to tell you which cavity on the firewall side it should be clipped into. Kind of a weird blade type connector.

ok i will check the cluster one more time.... If anyone is stuffed under the hood today, please check it out and tell me where the Mother friggan' thing plugs into... thanks again.....
