im looking for ideas on ways to keep my amps both cool and dry. any water proof container ideas?

the amps will be in the back someplace behind the back seat. not sure of an exact location yet. just want to make something that would keep them both dry for deep water crossings and also cool. for cooling i was thinking some high flow pc fans.

install location?

gotta get air in somewhere:dunno: if air can get in water can. Id just buy cheap marine amps and mount em high.

these wont just be cheap amps lol i was kinda maybe thinking a plexiglass case with an open top. i was just wondering what others do to keep theirs dry. i will have 3 amps most likely for the way i want to set it up. 1 4 channel to run the fronts and the rear 6x9's then 2 more for the 4 12's

Get a one ohm stable class d amp and you just cut your chassis count by one.

So I have toyed with this some. Its just not possible, for the simple reason an amp will cook itself mighty fast. We messed around with some cheap used amps in small enclosures with pc fans and tubes etc and about 20 minutes is the longest we ever had one last.

I have seen amp enclosures that were liquid cooled looked like a stupid amount of work though.

Although I have completely submerged several amps and they kept working.

On a truck I think the best place would be the bottom of a truck box with holes cut in the bottom to allow airflow.

mount your amps on the ceiling. If you get water that high yer focked anyway:thumb: realistically anything above wheel well level would be fine. beyond that your motor is submerged anyway. do a sealed box coated in fiberglass resin before paint/covering and put them ontop of the box.
