Is there a better quality/priced weather seal than the one from lmc? Has anyone used something other than OE? Exhaust is going to kill me on my way to work.

Thanks

OE is your best bet, I'm guessing you are talking about the rear top to window U-seal though right? Disco'ed of course.

You might check with companies like chevy duty, and ask where they get theirs from. I think LMC told me their POS seal came from Thailand, and I think it was on the box or plastic bag as well.

I ordered new door seals from JC Whitney. I though I was going to get a crappy product but to my surprise, they're pretty high quality. And a helluva lot cheaper than the others.

I second the JC Whitney vote-I did door seals on my 83 and they quality seemed fine and price was good. Can't speak for any of the other seals other than door though.

Never had any problems with JC Whitney seals. Always fit and performed well.

You want the Precision brand. LMC stuff isn't as good. Precision is available from GMCPauls and others.
Just grab one of their kits, I have Precision seals from GMCPauls in several of my trucks. OE or better quality, mine all fit great and are lasting well,

That's what I keep hearing so when I am ready to do suburban I think I will go with them

I recommend Jon Addington for precision seals. He is a small business and keeps everything in stock available for squarebody trucks, Suburban, and K5. He is also only 2.5 miles from me and a good guy to deal with and sells used parts to.

He sells window seals from Precision Manufacturing. Everybody from LMC to A1-Auto gets their window seals from Precision Manufacturing. Precision Manufacturing is a whole seller only. You cannot go directly to them to get window seals.

LMC does not sell Precision brand.

Jon sells the Precision brand seals at a better price than going through Precision directly. He is also going to provide better customer service.

yes they do. I have had more than one person in the restoration parts business tell me they do. Almost every restoration parts business gets them from Precision Industry. There are not an infinite number of manufacturers of restoration door seal kits to choose from.

This is a door felt from LMC and it is made in Taiwan. No where on the package does it reference Precision.

The packaging from Precision says made in the USA.

Precision Manufacturing is just a company that has a parent company, which has another parent company...and so on...and so on that has a bunch of industrial and automotive parts manufactured all over the world where ever they can find a manufacturing plant that will supply what they want. There are no special Santa's elf's making special restoration parts. Much of what is for sale, weather it be Edelbrock or Ecklers, is mass produced stuff.
