Anyone got any tips to make the bottom seals come off any easier after being on there entire life?

Gosh, I don't remember having much trouble when I removed mine. I don't recall what I did, but that surface being smooth, I would think a putty knife might help?

I've got some pics from photobucket, but their piece of crap site is down. Can't connect to them. All photos in build are gone until they feed the squirrels.

A putty knife works very well.

I'm guessing the weatherstripping is brittle? I don't know how old it was when I removed it 4 years ago but it was still soft. Flat but soft to where you could stretch it. I just used the putty knife to get it off in one piece. I don't know of anything to spray on it to soften it up.
If it's cracking and hard try some water.

I just did mine last summer. I didn't have a WHOLE lot of trouble on the sides... well I did, just not in comparison to the upper portion that's on the curved part of the top. On the sides though, as others have stated, a putty knife ended up working the best for me. Just try to work up a corner of it and once you get a piece big enough to grab, just hold it with your hand and keep some tension on it as you keep working it with the putty knife. Keeping tension on it I found was important. Helps to keep the knife from jumping ahead and making it come off in chunks. It wasn't too bad after I got a system going. The curved part was another story though cause there's no flat surface you can slide the knife on.

Photobucket is back up: Put an edge on the putty knife and off it came.

my seals are baked on! I got the 2 sides done tonight using razor blades and a scraper from my work tool box with little help from speedy 5000. got to clean front of topper up next.
So what adhesive are you using to attach new seals to it for permanent hold cause factory stuff was tough!

Will try to get a few pics tomorrow and post up.

pic # 3 is very front of hard top does this valley need to be totally cleaned out? I am guessing so on it.
pic # 4 small clip on inside front valley area goes along with pic # 4 should I worry about it????

I am doing the same thing to my hard top....I do have a question I can't seem to find the answer to....there is a seal that is glued to the top where it meets the the windshield frame seals. Mine is so flattened that I can't tell what it is supposed to look like. my windshield frame has two seals up top and the fiberglass top has one glued to it. Anybody know what that seal looks like? I don't see it in the LMC catalog.

If I remember correctly it's two semi-circles with a flat spot between them. Brothers has them but they don't show a pic.

The front lip of my top had a flat rubber seal on it all the way across where it meets the frame above the windshield, but I don't know if it was factory or not.

Long gone when I painted the top.

Looked at this front part of a top I drug out of a junkyard a while back and has what looks like the same deal as my other top had on the front.
Won't say it's factory but I guess it could be.
Never seen it in the parts manuals.
I'm interested in what that seal is from brothers, I'm guessing one of the other 2 deals that go on the top of the frame.
