Im looking to order a complete weatherstrip kit I have a 77 blazer everythings original except im putting doors off of an 89 I notice in the lmc catalog the door sweep and vent windows are diffrent from 77 part numbers. Am I right in thinking thats the only diffrence in rubbers for the whole vehicle. I think everything else will work im only asking cause the only whole vehicle kit I can find is for 81-91. Thanks,Rick.

Rick, I've said it a bunch of times, so it probably annoys people by now, but unless that kit is saving you tons of money (and even then...) you should probably try to source all the seals you can from GM FIRST, then go for aftermarket stuff.

I assume your truck is in nice shape, and you don't normally cut corners? The GM stuff IS more expensive, but it fits correct, and is normally far better than any of the aftermarket stuff, since people are cheap they aren't willing to pay what it would cost to make the same quality that GM did.

Just my take on it, doesn't answer your question, but I thought I would mention it. LMC seals seem to be pretty good based on comments. I had problems with the way they were being made long ago, but lately I've not heard any of the same issues.

Yea, my LMC ones needed a bit of work to fit, and one still doesnt fit right. But they do work, and they arent terrible. Im not 100% happy, but im not unhappy enough to take them back out either.

Classic makes good stuff, i used them on a few things. That is unless you are comparing them to LMC then Classic makes GREAT stuff :pimp:

I like LMC for a lot of things, ok a few things, but weather stripping definitely aint one of them. from tailgate opening to cap gasket such a poor fit its embarrassing. I never had a problem with classic industries seemed to fit fine but there is (as mentioned) nothing like the real deal GM.:thumb:

I will say to LMC's credit that they were very willing to work with me, they credited my account and didn't make me return the bad product. No hassle at all.

On the flip side, I offered to provide them a sample of a product that was mis-made (it was the rear roll-up window to topper seal), and while I got a little way through support and tech, after providing said sample, never heard back from them. Hope it made a difference for others at least...

I got a weatherstrip on ebay for310 complete kit. Ive test fit everything and it all fits well except the window run pieces not sure if when the window is in it will be better I hope so but its got to be better then ripped up old junk. The kit is from a1 auto the brand is precision?
