Weekend Pig Iron

K5 Cummins build for weekend wheelin'
Right on. I'm in for cummins K5. We need pics though. Does it have the cummins already or you are gonna be swapping to one?
Edit...nevermind I found the ones in the gallery. Looks like a good project to revive.

12v 230hp Cummins, came out of a diesel pusher RV back in 2008.
It will need some love before I drop it back in. Mostly a gasket refresh. I have a couple of rubber o-rings and front and rear crank seals to replace, as it is much easier to do on the floor than in the truck.

Really not fun to pull a ton worth of Cummins and full cast iron drivetrain in the dirt. But we do what we have to do with what we have.
Basically lift the engine and trans. Then pull the truck out from under it. No way that cherry picker is rolling on this ground.

It had a 305, TH700-R4, with a NP208 I think. I cracked the torque converter at the weld between the snout. I pulled the transmission, welded up the crack. That is when I got a line on the Cummins 12v 5.9L. I sold the 305/TH700-R4/NP208 to a co-worker. I then found a NV4500, and NP205 and setup the Advance Adaptor kit. I mocked it up in chassis with custom motor and trans mounts. The 5.9L technically never ran, but I used to work for Cummins so I have a pretty good idea of what is needed to get this going again. My plan was to collect parts then slowly piece it together. Problem was life happened and nothing got done.
