I'll be replacing the Wheel Bearings and seal and also replacing the gear box over the next couple of weeks.

Any recommendations for the following?

* Grease for bearing/seal
* Power steering fluid

1990 K5 Blazer w/350

Thanks!

Think I'm gonna use Timken grease. How much volume does the power steering fluid take?

I didn't know that Timken had their own grease. Probably made by someone else, but if they approve it, must be decent.
I usually end up with Valvoline wheel bearing grease, because I don't trust the cheaper store brands.

I would buy 3 quarts of fluid for the power steering, I don't think that it will use it all, but I believe that 2 quarts is barely enough. I can't remember exactly, since the last one I did wasn't stock.

While it’s a parts (and you have big tires) I would consider adding a p/s cooler and using synthetic fluid.

Any suggestions on one?
Since you have a 1990, you already have a small steering cooler mounted to the bottom of the radiator support, but it is merely a few loops of tubing. If you eliminate it and mount a small auxiliary transmission cooler in front of the radiator or A/C condenser, it will be quite a bit better. Just make sure that you don't use those stupid plastic push through ties to mount it to either of the two. They can rub tubes and cause leaks. I like to mount it so that it can be unbolted to clean or any other maintenance.

x2 on the cooler. I personally use Lucas red grease or Delo grease because that's what we use at work on our heavy equipment. The Delo is some of the stickiest stuff I have ever dealt with but is VERY thick if it's cold. That being said, I have never seen Timken grease and would most likely use it if I could.

Gotcha, so essentially replace it with a bigger one. I’ll check it out and see if it’s there.
