In my garage
3322 lbs over the front wheels, 2618 lbs over the rear wheels. Thats in 'street' trim with a full tank and me in it. Total weight was 5940 lbs.

I thoight it would be closer to 6200 or so after swapping in the 6.2 diesel, the D60 and the 39.5" TSL's...doesn't look like it gained as much as I thought.

Hummm...

That's not bad at all... /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Did you build a cage yet???

No cage yet /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif

The cage will probably weigh less than the hardtop so in 'trail' trim I should actually be lighter. HT, doors and tailgate combine for approx 500 lbs.

Rene

ok...

Are you going topless??

I am...
I'm just waiting for steel prices to drop a little...
so I can finish my cage.. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Wheeling topless is the best.../forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I have tube on order through my work. The next time they order round tubing of any sort my order will be included. Hopefully we need some round stuff soon, I'm getting a little antsy.

D60 front
14 bolt FF
6.2 diesel (dual batt's)
10,000 lb winch
SM465/NP205
39.5 x 15 TSL's and steel rims

Not exactly a recipe for light weight...I'm still surprised it wasn't heavier. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

I'm surprised your stock (appearing) K5 weighs as much as it does.

1991 blazer -- basically stock
10 bolts front and rear
32x11.5 yokohamas
2"x2"x3/16" rock sliders
front receiver hitch
aftermarket center front seat
power everything

Weighs 5,600# with a full tank and me in the driver's seat! Which is a mere 500# less than the GVWR. If I take 3 of my friends I'm over weight! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

It is stock except for the 35X14's , a little trim , and some hammer swings /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

I am at nearly 6600 lbs /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif Blew me away.

6100 lbs. on my burb before the 60 went in up front. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I didn't think mine would be this heavy. 3800lb on the front 3300 on the rear with full tank and tools but without driver. 7100lbs! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Hey Rene, just FYI regarding trail trim and being lighter: when I got back from EJS this spring, I took all the goodies out of the back of my K5 and weighed them; this included spare/shovel/hi-lift/CO2 tank/tools/spare axles/tierod/extra fluids/water and the like... ended up with 470lbs... /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

Including my 40" spare I carry less than 300 lbs of trail junk with me...

The scales I used are on my way home from work so when I get the cage done I'll weigh it again, then prolly at least once in 'trail trim' with tools and junk.

Rene

Mine tips the scales with me in it and a 1/2 tank at 5260 lbs and I'm 3/4 ton. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif
built 406 with the usuall alum perf. parts.
241/th700R4
front 3/4 10B
14BFF
35x16 boggers
light weight forged Weld alum wheels
lots of heavy stereo equipment
top on.

1-tons get heavy. Mine was 7700lbs /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif as shown in this pic. Essentially stock except for the shortbed & winch; 350/SM465/NP205 also.

I'm waiting to get the D60 in the front.

I'll probley put bumpers, winch, sliders, and maybe internal cage.

Wouldn't be suprised to see somewhere around 8000#s.

I guess I'll just have to make running starts to go rock crawling. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

My 2wd 1 ton with 350/TH400 weighs 4900 lbs full of gas. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

My Burb & util trailer weight in at ~7700 empty. The trailer's just a cut-down 1/2-ton frame w/box, bedliner, & a 12-bolt. Even if I figure it at a generous 1700lbs, the Burb is still a whopping 6000lbs /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif

A 6,000 lb burb isn't that heavy. I estimate my K10 shortbox with 1 tons and a 4 speed at 6,000. One of these days I'll weigh it.
