On the way home from the tree run, we swung by the scales to take a peek...

'88 Crew Cab, 454, t400, np205, srw, 8 lug d44 front, 14bff rear, 35" BFGs and a ladder rack...

Me, the wife, three kids, one dog, bunch of food, water, gear and afresh cut X-mas tree added to the weight of the rig...

The scale said it weighed 3940lbs...

That doesn't sound right to me, at all...

What do you guys think???

I think that scale is just a wee bit off... :doah:

This weighs 4,280lbs with me in it and about 8 gallons of gas on a DMV certified scale so I bet you're easily over 7k.
Standard cab, no bed, no factory tanks (just that small aluminum fuel cell), 35's and a 14ff out back... 350/700r/208

where did you weight it at? a truck stop scale? maybe you should go back and let them know its off if so

i know we talked about it once before ,Kert, but it amazes me that mine weighs more than yours!

I'll have to run mine across the scale again and see if our local scale is out of whack.

This year the whole "scale pad" was rebuilt and refitted with new equipment. Maybe it was dialed in perfectly when I was there.

You should report that scale, and operator.
If its a business, like a scrap yard, they are robbing people blind.

It's a truck scale up the street from my house...

It's almost never open, but they leave the scale on the whole time...

When I drove over it the other day it was dark out and I didn't notice it only weighs one axle at a time...:doah::haha:

Now I'll hit up the dump scale and see what it really weighs and also check the weight at each axle...
