weight of k5 1/2 top

what is the weight of the 76-91 K5 top. Is it a two man or 3 man job to remove?

two can do it. I'd back mine into the ditch and the wife and I could pull it off.

I also had mine set up to do it by myself, when I had a hardtop.

prob weigh 200 or so, and full top 250 or so.

Like Chris said, you can do it by yourself if you have the right set up. I can get under the top and put it on my back and walk it off and onto a stand thats the bed height.

My son's 91 top is freaking heavy. I believe because of all the steel added for the shoulder belts. Two extra "hidden" bolts that go up from the bottom at the back too.

Mines a 91, and it is a bitch to do, but not that bad

Same here. Doing it by yourself is pretty easy if you can rig up something similar.

If you need to do the old "take off the top, walk it down the path to the backyard and set it on a tarp on the ground" routine, then you'll need one other (moderately strong) person.

As for how much they weigh...I'd guess about 180-200 lbs for the half top.

If you do some searching for my name, you can find the rack I made for mine. Four 4x4s a couple of 2x4s and casters from lowes and mine never had to hit the ground, hell my feet never letting tailgate.

My wife and I did ours on our own with no set up we just unbolted and lifted up and off -- it was pretty damn heavy -- 3 would be better unless you have a cool set up like others were talking about. I think I remember reading that it was 300lbs

Thanks, about 90% of that was the wife...she grew tired of helping take it off, lol.
