Over the past several months I have been noticing an increase in a pulsating action of my brake peddle. Lest week I checked the front rotors for warpage and they were fine. I pulled the rear drums and took them to have turned. Out of round no big deal problem fixed.

Put the brakes back together again. Stopped smooth as silk. Over the past week I have been noticing the brakes are starting to pulse again. I am thinking the drums are out of round again and cannot figure out if this is the problem or not. I just had them turned and watched the tech do it.

Any ideas? I'm stumped here.

First thing I would do is to insure it's the rear again and not the front. If it is the rear then one of two things is probably the culprit.

1. the drums are too thin and they can't dissipate the heat properly and are warping

2. they are not adjusted correctly or E brake is sticking causing them to build to much heat and warping them.

check lug nuts

Incorrect or varying torque on the lug nuts will warp either drums or disks; if you drive with 'em that way for long, they'll wear into the new shape giving you lateral runout problems. but if you take the wheels off and check on the warping right away as soon as you start to feel the pulsing, you'll find the metal's right where it should be (at least to a measurable degree). That's 'cause you've taken off the lug nuts that were causing the problem. defective studs can cause that too because the nuts will give you correct torque before they're really on. and it's more a difference among the nuts that's causing the problem rather than having the torque number wrong somewhat. if they're all torqued the same, it doesn't really matter much if you've got 'em all a little bit too tight, until it's raining at night, you've blown the sidewall of the tire out on a curb, you're on a gravel road, and the lug nuts are on too tight for your lug wrench.

I used th impact gun on the lug nuts this time, I'll go back and redo and see if this can correct the problem. If I caught it in time. Thanks for the suggestions guy's.

if the steering wheel is twitching with the pulseing then darn good chance its the fronts. if you feel it in the seat threw your butt its a good chance its the backs. if your ebrake is good shape take a slow traffic side road and hit around 30-35mph. then slowly apply ebrake with hand on relsese lever. if pulses then its in the back. if not all in the front.

this is how a mechanic checks them lots of times. i do it every day. and it has only got me wrong 5-6 times in well over 7+years.
