Today I went to start removing my tranny/tcase so I can replace my flexplate. well while under the truck I notice condensation all over the sides of the motor/tranny and tcase. but not on anything else. The truck is parked under one of those tent garages and sitting in the grass. What the heck would cause the condensation ? I have never seen that as far as I can remember.

whats up ?

Just a theory but the metal on those items is more dence/thicker than the other items around it and will take long to absorb heat to remove the condensation. When did you go to work on the truck? Late morning would be my guess?

actually I went out in the afternoon. it looks like the block, tranny, tcase, oh and the intake manifold are all sweating. nothing else has moisture on it, not even the aluminum valve covers. REALLY WEIRD.

Warm moist air + cold metal/cement etc= condensation/sweating. Just like a cold beer on a hot summer day. My un-insulated shop does it everytime it warms up in the winter or spring. Even with sealed concrete floor. Floor, metal workbench, K5, tool box all cover in condensation. It is a pain. Heat and insulation are the fix.

This winter was bad around here.

i went out there this afternoon, all the condensation was gone
oh well life goes on.
