Weird front axle?

Went junkyarding today....found a 82 chevy 4WD with 2500 series badges on it. 8 lug front axle has big spicer lockouts like a D60, they entirely fill the ID of the rim hole...but the steering arm has 3 bolts like a 10 bolt etc and it had balljoints so it isnt a D60.

Any ideas what this axle was....oh yeah other good stuff was a 14FF 4 spd and looks to be a 205 transfer.....maybe I will have to give it a new home

were they big hubs with a blue plastic piece that you turn to lock the hubs?

[/ QUOTE ]i've got a set(d60r/d44f)that came off a '72 3/4t.the d44 has the larger hubs than is currently on a '76 3/4t. i have.the d44 also has pss.side flat-top knuckles.

It's a d44 w/ external bolt on hubs. Must of been swapped in. 78 was the last year of the d44

anyone know what brand these lockout are? How much would the hubs and lockouts be worth for an 8lug swap? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
rotors need turned but otherwise it just a little rusty from sitting /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif
 
Look like the Spicers that my dad has on his '74(? who really knows actual year lol) D44.

He had actually talked to Spicer about getting parts for them, the plastic konb on one of his broke. Ended up using a Ford one, but it's red. Yuck. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

the ones I looked at were spicer brand
