When he turns all the way left, right before/as it reaches lock it doesnt turn anymore but lifts the whole truck up. Does not do it when he turns right ever. He has a 4" lift on his 78 k5. He recently got a raised steering arm and it still does the same thing. It doesnt sem to be damaging anyhting but I'm just wondering what would cause this since I looked underneath as it did it and I just cant figure out what could make it lift up like that.

BTW: He had some pretty bad bumpsteer before and some death wobble. Both of which are gone now that he has new tires and the steering arm.

When you turn left the box/arm/draglink pushes the tie-rod all the way until it can't go anymore , but it tries and pushes the truck up a bit as the steering keeps going .

When you turn right your pulling and it has nothing to leverage against .

Just my guess , I am trying to visualize it in my mind :dunno:

What do you mean by that?

at the very least buy the bolt in kit. the area that the steering box mounts to is known to crack. If you do not check it regularly and don't run a brace it will look like this eventually.

I use to check the frame after every trail ride. never saw any cracks and was not running a brace because the truck was only on 35's. I swapped in a dana 60, 44's and crossover steering. it lasted about 6 hours on the trail.
