Yes, I searched for threads on this topic, and none of those available address the problem that just happened to me, so here's a new variant to add to the bunch!

  • With headlights on, the turn signals work just fine.
  • With parking lights on, the turn signals work just fine.
  • With all lights off, when turning on either the left or right turn signal, both rear lights, both front parking/turn signal lights but not the front fender turn signal lights start flashing. :eek1:

Is it the turn signal switch in the steering column? It probably wouldn't be, since it works tiptop with the lights on, right?

Is it the headlight switch? It seems it most always is when the lights start acting funny. But are the turn signals routed though there too?

Or could I have gotten bad ground(s) somewhere that messes it all up in this manner? If anyone has any ideas before I start messing with it, I'm all ears.

Top off the blinker fluid and that should fix your problem. :haha:

Seriously, check all grounds first then start checking the bulbs. I had a similair problem once and it was just a bad bulb.

But if everything works as it should with the parking- and headlights on, it's could still be a bad bulb? I don't get it. Not that that's stopped me from messing with anything before, though.

Like i said, i had a very similar problem and the bulb was the culprit.

Doesn't hurt to swap out the headlight switch after you check the bulbs. They will do wierd things when the go out....
