Who make a weld on bead lock kit that has some way to keep the tire concentric to the hub?

most kits I see are just two pieces of steel cut into a round shape with no machining done to make a lip for the bead of the tire to sit on.

No one. I would like to see a shoulder machined in the weld on ring to keep it Consentric, But with most steel rings being 1/4 thick, machining a shoulder is not doable, I wonder how an aditional welded ring ON the weld on rind as a shoulder support would work. Would add more weight though, to an already heavy wheel assembly. The weld on's just pinch the side wall of the tire. I dont like this method, hence the reason I went with OMF beadlocks.

I knew I should have taken pics of mine. I had two of them machined cause it was faster than grinding! The machinist machined a bead on the outer edge and put some grooves on the inner part so the tire has something to "bite"

I thought petersons tested out two brands like I was looking for but cant recall the names. The weldon rings where the wheel is cut down (dirt track style) have provisions in the outer ring to align the tire. Wonder if I should get a couple and have the cut to fit inside a wheel lip

I have a set of DIY4x beadlocks and I am going to figure out a way to weld some tabs onto them to center the tire better. It might be this summer before I get around to it but I will post up my ideas and results when i do them

Wrong! Great Lake Offroad has weldon kits with a centering ring. I am running a set, tires not ballanced and it drives great on the road.

Thats the first I have herd. Good for them for stepping up and improoving this problem with weld on beadlocks. For years no weld on's had that option.

So what's the problem???

No problems at all with your bead locks they are great. I just cant seem to get the tire to stay centered when I am tighting the bolts down. Got 2 pretty good and 2 really bad. Have them mounted conventionally now and working out a solution.

Have you drove on the ones that are out of center?

I had some like that, ran them and they self aligned. Was on my blazer some time ago. Been good ever since.

any of the vendors here that make bead lock kits consider adding 1-2 rings that have the same bolt patten as the outer ring but the od would match the wheel size?

Yep I did, put bbs in the tire and it helped, I have done a couple of your bead lock kits Kert and have been able to get them centered up pretty good with the other two but apparantly my tires hate me. :(

do you think it might work if I leave them just a bit loose and go for a short drive( in a field on a dirt road with zero traffic so if something happens not only will I not get hurt but no one else will either)

I would say as long as you don't have an air leak you should be fine.
