who runs a welded d60f? how does it compare to one with a lock rite? hard to steer break all the time? any info or tips you can give me will be a great help

i am welded up front but am doing full hydro ,so yeah but my truck has not been out yet. why are you considering that as an option lack of funds or what? is it stree driven at all?

my original plan was 5.13s f/r with lock rights but lack of funds keeps me from doing both a front and rear, plus my carrier pin has wallered out its hole.

this will be street driven but that welding wont affect that part of it, that is what lock outs are for.

Welded D60 here - the traction is amazing, but turning kinda sucks. I'm working on getting Hydro Assist on there now which will make a world of difference, and if I get into a really tight spot I can just hop out and unlock 1 hub.

I went welded because I didn't want a lunchbox locker, and a selectable locker costs more than I paid for the wholel flippin' axle. I couldn't justify $1500+ for lockers in axles that are in a trailer queen.

Dont weld unless you have crossover at the least. Hydro assit would be a good idea also. Ive had mine out twice since I welded the front, but I run crossover, highsteer, and hydroassit.

I have a welded 60 front. Benefits- Cheap, traction all the time, oh and cheap again. Disadvantages- a real bitch to steer with stock steering, had it for 2 runs hated it, much better with full hydro and twin stick. I have broke with it welded but am not blaming it on having a welded front. The only reason I welded is becuase its cheap, and i dont drive on the road, I wouldnt recommend driving on the road unless you have lock outs. -Troy-

i'm not welded but this is what i put into my front 60:D

Mine is welded, and I took it out for the first time last weekend. It was not fun trying to turn. Even with one hub unlocked it was still hard to turn. My next purchase will be hydro assist.
