Verdict: I HATE IT!

I will be buying a Detroit ASAP. May be fine for the trail, but on the street it's a definate PITA!!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Wasswong Mr.? You no likey yo welded re-a gears? ALREADY tired of listening to the tires chirping? Or did the local Batavia authorities TELL you that it needs to go? /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

No authorities thank god...I dont have INSURANCE on it yet!!!

But it's just annoying as hell that's all. Btw, looks like a damn showtruck in that pic.

I've got a real nice GOVLOCK that I am selling! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Not quite a Detroit, but its sure not the same $$$ either! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I got used to it...but after having a Detroit I won't go back to welded again.

Yeah, the welded is okay for my trail truck, even though I still drive it to the trail, but I would not want to deal with it on a daily driver.

The problem is that I have had a detroit and I miss the thing dammit! Now i've gotta pay for an open carrier AND a detroit to replace this thing...it's a pita on the road.

Come on. It isn't that bad. I have driven around with my welded spiders for 10 months and I don't have a problem with it.

I can tell you one reason you hate it is because of the tires you are running. They have alot of contact patch and are wide. So they don't slip as easy.

I ran/run 32" BFG AT's on my truck and they do kinda suck. But I just slapped a set of 35" BFG MT"s on that are siped, and they are alot better then the AT's. They scrub alot easier and make driving it alot nicer then the AT's do.

Yeah that may be part of it. I didn't really want the mickey t's, but they came with the whole truck package. As soon as I can afford it, i'll be getting a set of tsl's or something. But till then, this welded rear end is a PITA. Whole damn truck jerks around corners....

The biggest pain for me was tire wear.../forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Are the spiders just welded or was it a gov lock originally?

Rene

I'm not really sure rene, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that it's just welded spiders.

If it's just the spiders you can just remove them and drop in a detroit...but you already know that./forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That "perty" truck will have some character after the upcoming Attica trip.

Oh wait, you won't stay on the porch will ya??
I know Dan won't!
