welding galvinized corrall pipe

hey im going up to my boss's hous to weld some coral pipe with a millermatic 125 Anny ideas about wire speed and heat?

can't help you, but VENTILATE. You need to ventilate the area when welding galvanized. Stuff can do some damage to your lungs. Many people simply will not weld it. To ventilate well means you may be blowing your gas away a little bit, thats easily fixed by cranking the gas pressure up a little bit.
 
welding galvinized is a bitch, it pop sputers it cloges you tips up and limits penitration, crank up your heat but watch it the pipes thin and you'll burn though if your not carefull. If you can try to grind off the coating off from the ends you welding just a bit mabey 1/4 inch.
and give your self a small gap inbetween the pipe a 16th and it will give you better penetration, and your boss wont be pissed. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

oh and silver spray paint is a nice match to galvinized pipe! cover your welds and it will loook great /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif
