True true. I could runa gas bead that was good enough to rip along side the beat with 20 ton press. I would attach a small piece of steel to the back and bevel the hell out of the edges. Clamp it all up and then fill it up with steel. Grind it until it's completely smooth and then cut it across the weld, and bend one one way and one the other way. This is the best way to test a weld 84gmcjimmy.

I hate MIG, I would rather use an oxy-acetylene torch.
My fav is a good 100% duty cycle DC welder runnin a piece of 6010 1/8". Doesn't get better than that. (envision a hard on graemlin)

At home I have a millermatic 135 with 25/75 gas setup.
Yeah, thats what I meant, a little coleman propane bottle thats what I am using.
Yeah I want an oxy-acetylene welder at home, so I can get better at welding, with 30 students in my metal class, its hard to learn how to use the welder, then make something when there are others behind you wanting to use it to...

30 students? Rediculous, I had what was considered an OVER THE LEGALLY SAFE LIMIT class of 12 people. When I got into the more advanced classes it was down to like 8 or so and I was one of the teachers. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif
