Another vote for the ESAB Sentinel. I bought one when I wanted to learn to TIG. The difference was incredible over my old auto darkening. I can actually see what is going on with the puddle.
 
Sentinel hoods are high value, but their drawback is weight. I’ve been jamming with mine for a few years, and I’m still pleased with the performance. Next step up is 2x the cost.

Switch to the clear shield for TIG work.

Pro tip on the grind button. Remember to pressit again to weld.... its too easy to forget.


thanks, didn't even think of that... to be honest, not sure how much i'll use it anyway.. I have a clear face shield I generally wear when grinding, or regular glasses, mainly cuz i always throw shooters muffs on for noise...
