Can you put a welding insert from an Elite welding helmet into another welding helmet that doesn't have an insert? I have a Miller Elite helmet with just the #10 screen and I have the chance to buy just the insert for an Elite and need to know if that's all I need to do is buy the insert and install it into my helmet and I'll have an Elite auto-darkening helmet........ Please help.

Thanks,

RIZ

it's such a specific question...

I doubt it... I'm assuming the non-darkening is old... it's a window size thing.. i have an elite downstairs i can take measurements from, that unit is pretty big tho, like 4" x 5"..... but i'm thinking the smartest thing to do is a quick call to Miller's tech....

I have a new Miller Elite shell and need to know if the Miller Elite auto darkening insert would fit right into my shell. I'm assuming so but not sure if thats all that needs to be done to turn my non-auto darkening into an auto darkening.

The biggest factor will be the size. If the inserts are the same size, then yes it should fit.
