Welding on the frame

HEY how are you!
Another 8 years has passed and I'm popping by to say hey again! Actually tossed a new battery in the old silver K5 last weekend, got lights and 1 click., then nothing not even lights! Picked up a new fuel pump and sender, need to go thru the wiring now after having evicted the opossums. Several wires got chewed up. LOTS OF RUST popping back thru. None-the-Less Giving it another go! Photos to come!
So, did anyone ever figure out if we can weld to the frame? I got stuff I need to do here soon.
