Got to do some repairs using a welder and where the truck is parked there is no power. Can I run a welder over a 200' extension cord? Or, will a 6500w generator run a 240 lincoln 180?

200' would need to be 6 gauge or larger. The 6500w genset might do the 180, those 2 welders may be able to run 120v or 240v

My Lincoln 140a was very specific about the gauge of extension cord and a max of 25 ft. These are probably ideal specs but I bet 200 is too much.

I run my 240v harbor freight welder off my 9k generator on about a 60ft cord with no issues.
