Ok, so I have maybe welded twice in my life...but what the hell U only learn by doing...so I need to weld the seems of my bed where it has been narrowed, I have access to a 110 wirefeed welder, from what I have been told this will work for body sheetmetal pretty well....but now for the questions, what should I set the welder to? like the amps and wirespeed and stuff?? also will it matter that there is bedliner on my bed or will the welder just burn through that no prob...or should I grind it down first?? anyways any tips or tricks would be cool too!! /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Are you going to be trying to butt the two pieces together? if at all possible make a piece that will go behind it and use a series of spot weld {stiches}. You also need gas and not just flux core. Just learned all this the hard way. Any other questions I will try to help. Oh yea, set it on the lowest setting and play with line speed.

also keep in mind that you have to have a place to hook your ground clamp to bare metal so it prolly wont work with the bedliner on there.

bare metal, for ground and for the gun too

shiny is best, make it such for best weld performance

settings you just have to play around with and fine tune with,
