C channel is the flattest thing you can get straight from the supplier.
I can get pics tomorrow but I scored a 4ft x 12ft table from work that a 1/2" steel top with 3/8" 4x4 angle iron legs it was built sometime in the 60's by the railroad for rebuilding traction motors on the locomotives . So it's hell for stout.
I use my tailgate. mobile as hell.
