I picked up a used set of 4" front lift springs from a guy local. I installed them tonight, and things seem a little off. I'm beginning to wonder if they might be 6" springs. Like an idiot, I forgot to measure before I started to see how much lift I got.

After the lift, from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fender is 27". Based on another thread, this seems to be about 5.25" of lift. But, from the axle tube to the bottom of the frame is 13", which from another thread seems to indicate that about 9" is stock, which is 4" of lift.

Gah. Confused! Can any of you guys with stockers confirm some measurements for me? #1. From center of hub to bottom of fender. #2. From axle tube to bottom of the the bump stop mount. (on the drivers side, please!)

Thanks in advance!

post a pic of the spring(mounted weight on ground), someone might be able to help by seeing the amount of arch there is

Measuring may not help much if they are used and have lost some of their arch. I would say post up a pic, get a nice flat side view.

Well, I'll post up pics when I get my tires on, but I'm happy.

I completed my shackle flip in the back, and it sits level. So, whatever they are, its good. =) I get 46.5" from the ground to the body line, at the front of the truck, and at the rear. I got 5" of lift, total, I think. At least in the back. So, they are probably 4". I forgot when I was taking all these measurements last night that I had the back end lowered down to work on it, so that brought the front up a little.

Thanks!

Numbers dont tell us squat. Pics do.

Just for you, here's some pics. 4" spring (?) front, homebrew shackle flip in the rear. 33x15x15 Boggers on 15x8's. And yeah, its in my driveway which has a little slope. Makes it look a little saggy, but its actually exactly level along the body line.

First, here's a pic of what it looked like the day it arrived from govliquidation.

man that thing. looks brand new. All you need is a 14bolt and its ready for action! I have one of those bumpers by the way. Whats that mount thing on the side?

Yup... I figure I'll run the 10b till I break it, but I've got my eye open for a 14b in the meantime. The mounts on the sides are for antennas - military stuff. Basically they make good cupholders. =) Gatorade bottles fit perfectly.

You've just convinced me I need to finish my project and use stock steelies powder coated black..

How do you not get in trouble with that big yellow thing over your license plate :p:

Very nice Blazer BTW ;)

Yep, 4" for sure on the front.

The rear looks like you have either a: not enough lift, or b. saggy-butt-syndrome.

Its the slope of the driveway. On level ground, the body line is the same height off the ground from front to back.

You have just managed to convince me to save the new 33's I bought last year and get 15" wheels to go on the 3/4 tons. I think it looks really good like that, although it is probably going to kill my top end with 4.10's.

Yeah, this has 3.08s in it. Its a 6.2 diesel, so it doesn't have massive power anyway. It still gets up and goes pretty decent, and highway cruising at 65-70 is effortless and gets me ~20 mpg. Not bad for a 20 year old 6000lb truck.

I just want to add that it's not unusual for 4" springs to come out with 6" of lift compared to the old worn-out springs you're replacing. Remember that the original springs could have sagged 2" from when they were new, especially if you have the two-leaf packs like I had. Also the new springs could settle some if they're not fully broken in yet.
