Bought some much needed brake pads and rotors for my daily driver (car) on ebay the other day. Pulled the caliper/rotor off slapped the rotor on and went to open the box for the pads... yep, frick, wrong pads! Kind of ruined my day, had to put the old rotor and pads back on and email the seller, no reply yet.

My Son in law did the same thing.... brought my daughters Tahoe over to use my lift, then he took everything off, opened boxes and realized he only had 2 rotors instead of 4!

Yeah that's my luck.

I've avoided buying parts online for this and other reasons..

It's hard enough getting the right parts from local parts stores here, especially on things like brake pads when more than one part number is listed, your better off bringing in an old one and matching them up ..
Sure it may be "cheaper" buying online (except when shipping costs offset the "savings, and it ends up costing nearly the same or even more than buying local),but at least you can return the wrong parts and get the right ones quickly, usually the same day..no hassles shipping the wrong parts back or having to pay to do it..

WTH? Do you live back in the woods? :banjos:
Nope, they don't want to ship to certain counties in certain states, it has to do with sales taxes.

It's kind of the opposite. In Colorado, not sure about other states, they won't ship to cities that self collect sales tax because they don't want to mess with filing returns in a bunch of cities. The places that self-collect sales tax tend to be larger population. I can have parts shipped to the small town of about 2000 people where I live, but the city of about 20,000 where our business is, they will not ship to.

Summit will ship to our company address, but RockAuto won't. So it's a choice of how they want to do business.

My beater DD cars all get vatozone pads for the lifetime warranty.

I have had good luck buying off Amazon. I usually use the parts stores search engine to find the correct part and use the mfg number to find it on Amazon.

What about shipping to other people's businesses or houses in other counties, will they do that or does it go off billing address?
They will ship wherever. I buy RockAuto stuff for the company vehicles with the company card and have it shipped to the house.
