actually I am a diehard Ford guy that bought an albatross white sb Chev
I now have 3 78/9 Broncos in my possesion so I am not sure how long I will have a Chev.
I will never own another one.

the 80s (no idea the years but a cruiser guy would know) cruisers are Landrover copies in regards to the radius arm suspension
electric lockers etc etc
parts would be a bit tricky to find at least they are super rare here
real popular overseas like Aus etc
I see Rene jumped on the 'Chev fan' thing pretty quick
I will say that a Ford is much cheaper to build into a capable rig then a Chev is.

As for the 80's, parts are readily available, you just have to know where to look. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif There is actually a split in the 80's that i should have mentioned, 91-92 are the standard FJ 80's, which had a caryover 3Fe. It was in 93 that it became the FZJ 80, which had the 4.5 DOHC and were more commonly equipped with lockers. 91-92's with lockers are pretty rare, but they are out there.

I had looked at several that were under 5K when i bought my K5. The K5 just better suited my needs at the time as i was gonna keep my old toy as a trail rig. I dont know what you looking to spend exactly, but nice ones under 5 grand are out there.

I know it... I just replied to all of em. I figured I'd get grilled like hell for posting a dumb question like that for post #1. It will take some time, but I'll gain their respect sooner than later. Go do me a favor and find ANY lifted FJ-anything thats in decent condition for less than 8-10k. People like these rigs. Nice ones on ebay sell in excess of $20k. Thats a rig I can sink some money into. Regardless, the K5 hit me hard in the resale department... I'd just rather go into the next truck feeling better about it than the last time around. Right now in Michigan is 67 FJ-40, 350, toy 4 speed, caged, locked out back, power steering, on 33's for $3400.
