So today in preparation for the thunderstorms I put the hard top on for the first time in 4 months and when I went to roll up my window it stuck. As I was working on it trying to get it back on the track it shattered. So I figured **** it. I been really wanting the softopper something awful so I splurged on myself. I already got the hard top sold. I can’t wait !!!! Hopefully shipping isn’t to long!

You'll love it. Before buying mine, I thought it was a bit spendy, but now with one road trip done, it was worth every penny. Ditch the tailgate for a truck one while doing it, can't beat the combo IMHO

^^^^^ Get you a regular tail gate and you're good to go. Soft top are great.
Miss mine.

@Williebeaman ,I'm just south of you watching the horizontal down poor.

Dude! This is some gnarly rain! I guess we were due. Now I just gotta hope over the next week it doesn’t rain cause the guy is coming to pick up the hard top on Monday how long did it take for y’all tops to arrive?

I know a lot of y’all love the tailgate swap but I was actually thinking of gutting the blazer tailgate and making some sort of easy access to store some gear inside of it? Once I shattered my window and cleaned it all out it was kinda nuts how much lighter it was just without the window!

Just got a call they are shipping it out today !! I’m so freakin excited! I’m thinking of having a buddy help me film the installation. I noticed there isn’t a real install video for the blazers anywhere I could find. Merricks garage is more a review not an install. Although his video totally helped sell it to me!

I thought the install was fairly straight forward. Instructions were pretty good. Take time to get the header piece over the cab to sit just right and it will all go together just fine.

Nice! The pic shows the best part of the soft top :saweet:

And the entire top is rolled up behind the rear seats strapped to upper harness mount.

I like the idea of storage in the gate shell. The install was easy but you'll need a second person.

dude I love your rig!! Did you build that cage? Or is it the diy4x? My next big purchase I’m planning will be getting a bumper/tire carrier. Right now mines just bouncing around in the back constantly in the way. Idk why they didn’t come with a swing out spare

The cage and bumpers were built ~1998 by Bent and Twisted (long-gone fab shop in Chico). The owner has a real job now - good for him as he can race Ultra 4, bad for us because they were good.

Softopper kicks ass. Double check the package before you open. I received a 2nd gen by accident, they fixed it and cross shipped the correct, so that was pretty great.

Do the frame when you can, but do not attempt the top until you can lay it in the sun for a few hours before you start, everything needs the heat to soften up and get it stretchy. Make sure you still have 1-2h of sun when you are ready to throw it on.

Looking at upcoming weather my next day off with be next Monday and it should be sunny and 65 so hopefully that’ll be warm enough!

It just arrived!! I ordered around midnight Thursday it shipped Friday and arrived Monday evening! Pretty damn fast!! Unfortunately there isn’t enough daylight left and it’s supposed to rain the next 2 days so I’ll probably try to get it on the truck friday.
