Im curious, why does your 2500 have a Dana 80? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif I worked on a 01 and it had a 70 (yes it was a cummins).

And Tim, thats the type of high school immaturity I thought I left behind a couple years ago, guess I was wrong.

Timmy, you are just jealous, cause you can't afford a real tow rig!

[/ QUOTE ]

I wouldn't call anything with airplane gears a real tow rig.

Airplane gears and close to twice the torque of your POS. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Oh yea, almost forgot, check to see what a LOT of semis have for rear axle gears jackass.

Its redder than red.Your gonna need a new paint job. /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gifI dont like red trucks myself, but if thats what you want than good deal /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif I hope that you enjoy trouble free miles of fun . I guess you wont be comming around here anymore then, with the deisel and all.Good luck to you and Daniele dude.Jake* /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Timmy, you are a complete idiot if you insist 3.55's are "airplane" gears. When I drove it home last night I was at about 1800 RPM's in OD at 70mph, perfect. In direct it didn't even like going over 60 much because it shot up around 2500, 400RPMs away from it's governor. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif Infact, no wonder I have been told by numerous folks that 4.10's are worthless in them.

Hey Timmy, our 2 axle local semis have 4.10's with 40" diameter tires. at 55mph they spin 1500RPM's. Over the road hi horse trucks usually have mid 3's and I have even seen 3.23's, thats with still a 40" tire BTW. Airplane gears??? nope, diesel gears. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

So are you too stupid to understand or just being a jackass?

[/ QUOTE ] Sorry for the delays guys on the drivetrain info, I just picked it up last night and I saw it in the dark before. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif It does in fact have a D70 rear, I was wrong on the D80. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Wow what a truck! for the stock 235/465 numbers it freakin' scoots! /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I had wet dreams thinking about a red sport with black leather, thats why I nabbed this truck when I found it, I couldn't believe it was exactly what I want, down the the fancy cup holder. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif Don't know if the miles will be trouble free or not but I have a bumper to bumper 2 year warranty that was $2K. /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Danielle and I are doing great, she started school again this fall and I'm just working my butt off like always, I just started harvest. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Oh, and for whoever was asking, I paid $22,900 for the truck plus taxes, license, and extended warranty.

Thought so but...who cares, its still beefy as hell! /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif Prolly has a powr loc too.

I am a big fan of gearing a truck a little high but I must say that the 4.10's in my pull truck are absolutely not needed ! I ordered 4.10's for several reasons but there are times when the standard 3.54 ratio would be nice .
People that DO NOT understand what torque range a strong diesel engine operates in just won"t get it ......
Anyway I do not think that you will have a complaint about lack of gear with the 3.54's behind your ISB /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Damnit, every time I try to post in this post again, it gets deleted.

Anyway, my point with the /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif comment is that semi trucks have 9-15 or even 18 gears. It doesn't matter what's in the axles. Trucks have FOUR forward gears. What's in the axles is critical to performance...and 3.55 is a poor choice IMO.

You just don't get it do you /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif

I say you rip them whimpy gears out all together, along with the whimpy tires /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gifput in some 513s,throw on some big meats and a lift,,THEN youll be set. Id like to see this proclaimed 1000 hp youve been talking about too /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Ditto.

.and 3.55 is a poor choice IMO.

[/ QUOTE ] Then your opinion is obviously un educated. Now your pissing off, if 3.55's were so terrible for towing then they wouldn't be STANDARD in the heavy duty cummins powered dodges. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif
I pulled my tandem axle trailer today with my new dodge and it's "airplane" ( /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif) gears and it was almost non existant back there. It pulled it better than my 98 C30 dually with a vortec 454/NV4500 and your beloved 4.10's did.
I suggest you go to another thread and talk about things you actually know about, which really suprises me because you are fairly sharp. I think you are just trying to be a jackass.

cool, bro. what kind tires are you planning on? /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gifto /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

[/ QUOTE ]
Probably 33x12.50 BFG M/T's or 33x14.50 SSR's on 16.5x10 or 12 welds. About a 2-3" lift, it is already tall for stock.
I'm not in any hurry though, I would like to get the amount I financed down a ways before I spend much on it because it has really good high load rating Michelens on it right now and I would prefer to wear them out first.
