it has a 208. i'm old is a 208 worth the cast aluminum it's packaged in?i have a 203 now.and will the 465 bolt up my 203 ?my junk is 79 and the trans is from an 86.thanks in advance:D and it's mostly mud..

Your '79 with the 203 will have 27 splines if its mated to a 350 tranny. The '86 will have 32 splines with the 208 behind it.

I'd ditch the older stuff and run the newer 465/208 because you're getting rid of the excessive weight from the 203.

Oh yeah, being that the 465 is from an '86 will also mean it has hydro clutch. You'd have to swap out the pedals and bolt on some more stuff on the firewall.
Easy fix would be to use a manual bellhousing from an '84 and older. But if you want hydro, swap it all in.

if you want 4 speed and doubler keep the 465/208 and didtch the tcase only. can redrill the 203 range box.

my cab is an 86 Wes. and the donnor blazer was an 86. but dickneck only saved the bellhousing.:rolleyes:an 84 huh? sweet.i really don't want hydro.you can never tell when your clutch is worn out.till it's too late. and sweetk, i will prolly never do a doubler. its just mud here in Mich. i would like to do it one day as i LUV playing with buttons and knobs and levers. i will be the only fuk with an all high gear doubler.:haha:

the weight saving part i like. :D but there is a two prong plug in the trans and in the t case.WTF is that for? temp or something?

Not that 208's are great but they are light and I've beat the piss outa mine and no problems. I'd keep the 208 unless your going range box and 205. The plug in your trans is for reverse lights. The one in your case may be for a 4x4 light.

thanks bro.:D yeah mud is not that hard on stuff.i'll keep looking for a 205 just because.and a 60. i found a guy a year ago, that worked at a junkyard. he said he could get me all to 205's i wanted.when i went to his house ,he had a boat load of t cases that were drivers side.:haha:he pulled them all and snuck them out thinking he was gonna make fast loot.:D
