Just to tease you guys a well known CK5'er is on his way to help me with rear axle perches and shock tabs etc!!!

Jessie is cool guy and very helpful with great bit of knowledge like a lot of the guys on here!!!!

He taught me how to cut perches off correctly, gave some welding tips, and how to set perches up if there is a next time for me,along with setting my shocks up right!

Can not thank him enough!

We shot the shit, drank tons of Gatorade was like 93 outside. Got it all mocked up and set in place/tested it in driveway.

Now gotta blow back apart for paint finding right bolts since local hardware stores suck here ( he can tell you that first hand) and reinstall brake lines, shocks, exhaust ebrake cables etc.

Anyone that gets a chance to meet him will realize he is a great guy and can weld with his clothes on (maybe off for some) and brings great knowledge to guys like me trying to build there first rig!

Sure will remember more later since it is Mother's Day.

Few pics of some work I took pics of

Wish I could have been more prepared for the work we were doing axles perches cut off, shock tabs cut off and cleaned up with actual bolts we needed.

But live and learn!

Maybe Jessie can walk me through sliders I showed him installed. Need to figure notching tube, learn better by seeing vs typing. But if can get them on soon that will be more fab skills under my belt.

Also will let him give feed back on esab helmet and miller 215 mvp!

I wouldn’t say I’m well known. It was nice meeting yah and working with you. It was definitely hot out. That hood is awesome! Would love more time with your welder as my 211 doesn’t have that fancy screen and adjustments. Takes some getting used to as the wire feed doesn’t go to the speed you set untill it pulls current. I guess I could have cheated and just put it on auto set. Lol. Glad we were able to get it back on all 4 for the time being. Sorry some of my welds weren’t the prettiest.

Glad you did relocate your shocks as they were definitely not in the right position. Now the shocks are right in the middle at ride height. 5.5” up and 5.5” of down travel. The increased ground clearance is also another plus.
