Went to get my '01 8.1 vortec with a friend in his pickup to a nearby town. load up the bigblock, and he needs to stop by his buddies acreage down there. cool, we swing by. hes got all sorts of stuff strewn about. i spot this red pickup way out on the fenceline. I ask about it. Its one of those things he picked up last year. to use around the 10 acres for whatever. and never got around to useing it. :doah: He say $500 its yours. done deal. pretty good shape body. some boxside wheelwell rust. minor. original 6.2 truck. auto. OD. red in, red out. regcab longbox. air out on 1 tire, hasnt run since he parked it last year. where it sits. ran great then though. we're all mechanics, and a friend of my friend, so I believe him. batts are dead though. I'll go back another day and we'll boost it, get it out of where its at. and I'll be sure to get pics.

just need a beat around truck for now. I can't be with out a pickup. its been driving me crazy not having one since my dually has been apart.

what have you been driving then? the little diesel car? dude, you need to get that truck running, I'm gonna have mine driving within a couple weeks here . . .

The jetta is my daily driver. no question there.

I just started digging my dually out from under its pile this afternoon. getting geared up to make the body permanent on the ford frame.

I have no desire to work in a cold garage. so i didn't.

And I'm outside painting my porch, looking at the lawn and thinking I should be cutting that...not that I'm complaining. :D

Where are the pic's of the new truck Luke?

Its still out on the acreage by Lethbridge.

Ya Nov until now has been actual winter. no garage work.

Yeah, guess you get enough cold weather wrenching at work eh? ;) You going to be able to drive the new truck home?

cam phone sukky nighttime pics.......... runs good though. manual glow plug switch already. i think the 700r4 is a little dodgy though. don't have it plated yet so have't run it out to speed.

Ya i totally thought so. the cab, doors, fenders, and hood have no rust to speak of. the rear renders over the wheels is about the only spots of rust.

and......... the manual glow plugs switch and Hi idle both WORK!
