I already kilt the 700r4 in the burb. In case you were wondering, "kilt" is scottish for "made dead". 1-2 shift is hard, sometimes, and 3rd gear is one big slip and 4th, well who knows, haven't seen it in a couple of days. Pulling it out tomorrow, having a friend/customer rebuild it in exchange for some arsenal, and reinstalling saturday. Fun times to come! Was gonna go 465/205, but I'd like to have OD...

Will a 700r4 with a np208 bolted to it swap into my truck if i put my 241 on it?

Welcome to the Club of the 700 Killers...its not very exclusive. Ive killed two and working on a three and four currently.

Is this the same one with the noise in the transfer case?

Sounds like you have picked up one of the dreaded drivetrain viruses..........

why dont you just swap it to a nv4500? bet you cant kill that one.....And youll have overdrive!

never had a FSC with a vatomatic, so I think I'll put it back in, seeing as how it will be done tomorrow AM. that and the wife needs to be able to drive it

When you blow this next on eup i would think about the 5 speed swap.... Just teach your ole lady to drive....

hahah wich one were you not seeing happen? If you do end up blowing this one there is a place called bowtie overdrives that builds good 700r4s that last...... Thats the way i would go if i had to do automatic.

friend of mine has a bowtie 700r4, holds up to 8200 rpm small block revvs with a sled hooked to it.. 700r4's are stronger than you think apparently.

Yeah they are strong but have to be built right. Thats why i recomended botie overdrives. Ive had one of there stage 3 700r4 in a 2wd 84 chevy drag truck. It held my 700 hp 496 just fine....

i would never spend that kind of money on an auto. for what a BTO 700 costs, I could scrounge up a mechanical cummins and trans/tcase combo

Why does she need to be able to drive it? I though the 5speed would be a good excuse as to why she cant drive :D

wellll folks, that's all she wrote. Now re-installed with a nice new aluminum cooler, synthetic fluid, new TV cable, new dipstick and tube, and drives freakin great!
