Welp, the 2019 Chevy Blazer dropped today...

Finally got to see a Failblazer in real life! Someone in my office has one in black. It was so uninspiring and pedestrian that I didn’t even give it a second look or walk over to see closer. Looks just as boring as the photos show, just another stupid, curvy SUV or CUV or whatever they call it. If you haven’t seen one yet, you’ll miss it unless you’re looking. Seriously it was that bland. I would’ve missed it if the parking lot wasnt nearly empty on a Saturday afternoon.

I was thinking about this over the weekend and I assume the reason they put the Blazer badge on this thing is just because they already have all of the trademarks done and paid for and they weren't using them on anything else right now.

Some of it's to do w/ low sales, some w/ the fact that the head of Camaro dev moved to EV cars.

But I think the biggest thing is that the platforms they're using are going away and may not support a new generation of Camaro. Or, it would possibly be forced into a crap EV car like the rest of the company is going to.

Think GM is making a huge gamble pushing the EV cars like they're going to be. Nobody so far has made profit on EV's and they think they're gonna do it... More likely just flushing their company down the drain. Time to start investing in alternate nameplates..

Like Studebaker, bring it back!!

Everyone should park their K5 6" away from the driver side of these sh*tboxes whenever we see one..

just because... :D

As I recall the "original" Monza was no real prize--it was just an offshoot of the Vega..only decent one they had was the "Spyder" with a 305 V8 and a 4 speed, even those were not a great car..

Remember when GM re-introduced the "Nova" ?..
Everyone was all excited thinking they were going to be an updated version of the popular '68-'72 models, but then they came out with what amounted to be a GM badged Toyota...
The Pontiac Lemans was another flop, instead of it being a sister to the Chevelle,it turned out to be a korean built go-cart econobox..

A trim level to me doesn't count as a "car"..but I digress, the Corvair Monza was not a real prize either...
I had several friends who owned various Corvairs, they were lucky to get anywhere in them without chucking the fan belt off..
One was a "Spyder" that had a 140 HP dual carbed engine--it actually was a pretty fast car,but the fan belt liked to fly off once you revved it past 4 grand...

Camaro likely gone.
Well, it's not the first time.

Monza = yet another cruse with a smaller engine
Smaller than 1.4L? Pretty soon they'll have to change the posted minimum cc requirements on the freeways so new economy cars can use them - if they can actually get to speed limit.

Come to think of it, all the pure EV cars violate this rule and shouldn't be allowed on... (I think it's 124cc here).

GEO Metro's had a 1.0 liter 3 cylinder engine..they can go 65 mph,but you'd better hang on if the winds are gusting..

The new Blazer looks like my wife's Lexus RX. Some day every car and truck is going to look the same, and come off the same Chines assembly line.
