Welp, the 2019 Chevy Blazer dropped today...

I'm no expert in history, but I believe I've read in at least three places-- including in the past week-- that the Tahoe replaced the Blazer.

So....why didn't they just rename the Tahoe back to Blazer? The appearance of the Tahoe seems more fitting than this funny-looking squished "thing" we are presented with.

Or is this the replacement of the Tahoe, with the Tahoe name indeed being dropped from the lineup, but nobody cares because the Blazer name is bigger news?

To be honest I don't care. Not one little bit.

Big deal. I could care less what they call it.

Besides that I own a Jimmy

Not likely the Tahoe is going away anytime soon. The Traverse replaced the Trailblazer and the new Blazer is somewhere between the Traverse and the Equinox, so it's not even the closest competitor to the full-size SUVs.

I hate all the words in this sentence (not hating you...hating GM for turning into a bunch of flamers with their vehicles)

Looking at the lineup of vehicles these days really makes me realize I'm not like 99% of vehicle consumers out there. There really isn't one new vehicle out there that I want to spend money on...so I say screw em and I build what I want instead

I don't understand why everyone is surprised. Of course they're not bringing back the Blazer you know and love. Nobody would buy it. Buyers of new cars do not want old cars. A Cherokee knockoff has a good chance of tapping into the lucrative market that Fiat has been enjoying. Why wouldn't they want to tap into that market? :dunno:

Good friend of mine is a buyer for their used car lot, he primarily buys crossover suv blobs for quick flips.

I will give GM props for this with the headlights.

With more high-riding SUVs on the road, we are hearing complaints about LED headlight glare,” says Rick Spina, executive chief engineer for crossover SUVs. “So we placed the headlights lower in front without compromising design.”

Lower yes. Compromised design, that's he entire car.

I see; I didn't realize the new Blazer was smaller. I bet the cargo volume won't even come close to a K5, heck, I bet it will be less than the S10 version ever was.

It’s just a glorified station wagon.

The bronco coming out actually resembles the old broncos, which makes it way more desirable to me anyways, this new blazer is a name only, does not pay tribute to the old blazer at all
