Got to do some real wheeling up in Las Cruses--did Rocotillo rapids. Real good day up until the sunny skies of the southwest get real black real quick.

What I learned; If you get a flat and no one has a high-lift wou can tie a winch to the top of tha cage and basically almost roll it over and change a tire.

Quadrajets; most definately the best offroad carb does have its limitations. when pointing the nose straight in the air (still running mind you) can and will spill fuel out, gravity then takes hold and lures the fuel right to the distributor, thus lighting my truck on fire---sorry; no pics kinda busy:eek1:

wet rocks do not make for an easy ascent on a near vertical ledge

my bumper needs to be shortened--BAD

and Ipod earphones hurt--BAD

The day started off great. I have no trailer so I drove up through the desert for about an hour and met them up at the air down spot. The whole day we were just crusin through. I did the v notch (they didn't want to do it cause of the axle width and it just spit you on the side.

first obstical

looks like the wrong line, but it's not

The second obstical had a line for driver drop and pass drop. The Jeep and Bronco took the driver drop line. this jeep has been rode hard and put up wet

Me and the red jeep had to take the pass drop line (duh?)

basically a Chevy with a Jeep body.

this waterfall took a swing at three trucks but we all made it out. Tony's bronco got a flat, rolled Adrians Jeep and lit my truck on fire.

Hard core! your journey through the desert sounds like fun!
The rock crawlling thing...not so much.

Perfect, I was going to ask you for a picture of your anti wrap bar flexed out, and well...thanks...and those are killer pictures, I love the "V"

Badass wheelin', we are going to have to get together one of these years and do some wheeling out there. Did you guys run any trails besides Rocotillo, we didn't get to check out TT this last Chile Challenge but everyone said the big waterfall was super easy except for the competition line.

we only ran Rocotillo, it was a last minute thought after work on saturday. I think the last waterfall would have been pretty easy, but the rain definately made it difficult. I'm trying to get as much seat time this summer/fall so I can tear into it during the "cold" season so if you want to plan something we can definately get something togather.

great pics. a fire is no big deal if you get to it fast enough. how much damage was done?

I hope the Ipod hurt your ears on the way to the trail and home, and not on the trail. I hate guys that blast there stereo on the trail. how are you supposed to hear your spotter/ truck break/ "your trucks on fire"

fire damage was nil, got it out in time, it was probably a good thing it was at night otherwise we probably would not have seen it in time. Ipod was definately NOT in my ears on the trail. I now what every creak, pop, and bang is in my truck is and if i hear something out of the ordinary I stop and check it out.

nice run man. glad you got the fire out in time. yea i learned about carbs. they plain suck for what we try to do. thats why propane is in my near future. i hope to hit up cruses here soon. if my buddies dont convince me to go to farmington and roll my junk first. maybe next time i can join you guys.

Man, how did I miss this post :doah:

Good stuff. I know what you mean when you say "Looks like the wrong line, but it's not" The rear steer has put my rig on it's side in a notch like that many a times:o

Marv's right on, Cruces is smokin:D . Danny, if you have some Vacation, you should come on out and check out the AZ wheelin:weld: :grind:

Looks awesome!! :D

I lived in Cruces for a year before we moved here & MAN I loved it!! It's just a beautiful little town in the desert & then there is some KILLER wheelin' to do there as well.

Why, Oh why did I ever move? :(

Later,
Buddy
