Western Atlanta, NE Alabama trails

I will be in Anniston, AL for Thanksgiving, and will need to get away from the in-laws for a day over the long weekend. Looking for some easy to medium difficulty areas. More of a relaxing, take my time, enjoy the fall colors trail than a tear something up trail.
Anniston is along I-20 halfway between Atlanta and Birmingham. I dont mind driving an hour or two to find a good spot.
