The guy has put a newer motor in it with around 68k miles. Replaced the seals, gaskets, cam and lifters, rocker arms and bolts. Put in a high volume oil pump. Also replaced the brakes, put overloads on it. Has true dual exhaust that’s new. Says they put in a 400turbo transmission. He said there was very little rust (driver side cab corner) and just a few dings. Body was pretty good shape.

Still not working. I post pics from my iPhone all the time without problems using the copy paste/feature.

For the area, anywhere in the 3-5K range I'd say. Just going off that one picture.

Engine, transfer case, axles, gearing, any mods, number of owners, clear history, etc?

350 engine
Everything is basically stock, he added an aftermarket gauge cluster since all the old ones weren’t working.
No mods that I saw.
Guy who owns it bought it from original owner. Current owner bought to rebuild and keep for himself. Has owned about 3 years.
He put heavier leaf springs in the rear; I assume he had them left over from another truck (he buy and sells a lot).
Stock axles.
Has two gas tanks (is that normal) but only uses one. Never dropped the other and drained it.

He also just told me it has the np205.

Found out when I drove it the other day that he took the emissions stuff off the engine. (Saw an engine light come while driving). Said it didn’t start that till he deleted the emissions. What do you do in that scenario?

Find out if it’s true by hooking a scanner up to it and pulling the codes to see what they say.

That's a 208, not a 205. I'm sticking with the 3-5k range. A lot will depend on how fast it needs to move.

The only 'emissions' to delete is the cat, smog pump and EGR valve. Of those 3, only the EGR valve will trip the engine light.

He has it priced to me for $4200. Said he was going to post it for $5500 otherwise.

I used to have it set up on auto-renew but something weird happened (maybe when a card got compromised) and I never manually set it up again.

I haven't done anything to my Blazer since I haven't had time, so I haven't had the need to be on here much.

This truck is pretty good shape, runs, and is something I can enjoy for a while at least. I don't really need it, but I like it.

The ole dude I'm dealing with is a family friend for a long time. We've bought and sold stuff to each other for a while.

Real reason I'm considering is he built it for himself to run well and be dependable. I don't need to do anything to it if I don't want to. He put a slightly bigger cam in it and it has a good sound. Something I can visit the parents or in-laws in, make a trip to the farm supply store, throw farm crap in the back, etc.

I still want to work on my blazer, but until things slow down, it's not going to happen (hasn't for many years). I don't want to pay someone to work on the K5, but if I want to get it going, it's looking more and more like that.

Oh well, side jog. Thanks for the input guys.

That's probably about right. When I was looking for a truck last year, all the decent 4x4 square bodies that were priced in the 3k range sold incredibly quick.

Just giving you crap man.

Did you ever get the bunny poo off the K5’s engine?

My main worry with the K10’s engine is what the codes are. The codes themselves are easy. A paperclip and you can read the flashes of the check engine light. OBD-1 is easy.
The part that makes me wonder is what the cause is? Something simple to fix or down the rabbit hole of a cam that stock TBI ECM can’t support, hacked harnesses (make sure the oxygen sensor is still there), custom programmed chip, etc.
It’s all been done before but could get expensive if it’s not a gasket kit or new oxygen sensor.

Hahahaha, I forgot about the bunny poo comment, that made me laugh a lot.

He mentioned having to adjust the idle some after the cam. Said it lobed just a little too much for the stock setting, so he raised the idle just a little. I'm new to that too, so I don't have all the background knowledge. If this was a random guy I didn't know, I'd be a lot more troubled. Knowing I can "trust" him when he says the engine light never came on after all the work they did, until he pulled some emissions stuff off helps some. They don't have an OBD reader, and I'm too far away at the time to go back over and drive it somewhere to get it checked. When I drove it, it seemed to run/perform fine. Is there little tendencies to check for in that scenario?

Been a while. To update, I did buy the truck. Had it over two years now. Had to replace the radiator the other weekend but that's been it. Runs and drives good. I like it :)
The Blazer is still sitting beside the garage... motionless... ha. I am supposed to get a 3/4 ton truck without cab (guy is pulling cab for his truck) that I plan to swap some parts onto the blazer. Axles, rebuilt 350 (blazer has a 305), bulldog transmission. Maybe that'll get it "running" :) ha.
