im going to be lifting my blazer here pretty quick... what lift should i go with.. i want springs in the rear not blocks. i can get a 8 inch super lift for 1200 bucks with blocks drag link and pitmen arm and all.. what do you guys run... ill be running a set of 39.5 boggers

what did you have to do to make the lift work... i kow driveshafts but anyt thing else major... i dont think you need a high angle shaft for the 8 inch lift do you???

inform me

thanks alot

Brake lines and shocks...Maybe consider a shackle flip with 4" springs instead of 8" in the rear...just a thought...

Superlift will be harsh riding.

Get either Skyjacker or BDS as both offer 8" front and rear springs.

What kind of rig are you installing this on?

I run the same set-up your wanting, i added a zerorate in the fron and minor fender trimming to keep it from rubbing turning into parking lots and what-not, It rubs like crazy wheeling though, Lugs are cut up pretty bad. I have my zero-rate straight-up. If you go cross-over then i would move the axle forward to get the tire away from the fire-wall

this will be going on a 82 blazer.. it sits on a stock 12 bolt and 10 bolt right now with 35 baja claws... i will be adding a 60/14 bolt combo with 488s and detroits. i think i will be ok since i will add a 3 inch body lift as well. i just dont want to go with the 12 inch lift cuz ive had problems with shafts before and so doe smy buddy. i think with eather 10 or 11 inchs of lift ill be clear with the fenders.. naturally rubbage will happen when i catch air and what not..

8" GM Pickup, Blazer, Jimmy, Suburban

This kit comes with new front Glide-Ride leaf springs. These spring feature bolt style leaf alignment clamps, anti-friction pads, and tapered leafs. thats off bds site and its the same price as the super lift with the same parts.. i may go that route

I'd install/find the 60 and 14b before the lift. Then when you have those dialed you can swap in the lift and drive shafts etc. just my 2c

I'd do 5.13 gears if you haven't already regeared the axles.

ill be set with the 456s and the 40s.. with the 4 speed and a 208 i will be fine for gearing i think.. we run the dame combo in my buddys truck with 38s tsls and his turns them fine... i will have everything sitting here before i do any swapping i will get the 60 i got a line on for the switch for now... im just going to throw it together and run a 44 for now or swap the 8 lug outers on it as it is a dana 44 front axle now and swap the 14 bolt in...

I run a skyjacker 8" in the rear and a procomp 6" in the front and it sits perfectly level with the top on and raked in the rear just a smiggen with the top off. It does ride rough but I didnt want blocks either. I am going to do a shackle flip when I do the other mods I spoke of. Thanks for the reply by the way.

if you are running built axles, why not just send the extra money to run cross-over steering? it will make a world of difference, especially with a wide bogger

no sir they just need to be lengthend ... my buddys 10 inch lift was the border line for high angle and his 12 inch lift really had to... on my old 12 inch lift on a long box i got away with little grinding

awesome man, thanks a lot!

I have an 8" superlift on my truck. I bought it used. If I had to do it again I would peice it together. Get the softest spring rate front leaves you can get, or even get 4" lift 52's. then run a 4" shackle flip in the rear with some 4" lift 56's. run crossover, hydro assist and a brace on the steering box. you can get U-bolts, brakelines and shocks anywhere. You will need to lengthen both shafts. the front might need the CV stops ground out depending on the type of wheeling you do.

Get some axle with 4.56 gears. if they do not come with them then go right to the highest ratio you can. 5.38's if the 14 bolt came with a 4.10 carrier.

i priced out all the **** i want it would add up to over 1400 for everything that i want... i can get the kit for everything for 1100 everything needed plus the company that makes the kit is michigan based and we all know the economy in michigan sucks nuts

I too run an 8" Superlift kit on my k10 and to be blunt it sucks...if you actually want to get your rig off the pavement do as others have said and get 4" lift springs out back with a 4" Shackle Flip Kit...
Then get like 6" soft springs for the front with a zero rate or maybe some 6" springs with the longer shackles (like the ones Black Widow Performance sells)...

As for the steering if you don't plan on seeing much off-pavement time then the stock push/pull steering (with the correct adjustments...drop pitman/drop draglink/raised steering arm/etc.) will get you by until you get the axles swapped in and the suspension setup but make X-Over the next big ticket item to get accomplished.

Oh and btw I don't agree with the 4.56's...you need to go at least 5.13's to have fun imo...don't go off of overall height as your only method of determining gearing...the height of the tire, width of the tire (that makes a BIG difference), the added weight of the tire as well as running bias-ply's vs. running radials makes a difference too...so definatly go 5.13's if you are going to run a tire that large...
