Well took my drive side door off today to do some welding repair's. What a PAIN IN THE @SS! Took me and my Dad about a half day to the fix. The worst part was unhooking and hooking up the plugs for the power window and door lock! Also remounting the door and adjusting it sucked.. One of the worst job's I've done on the K5! But on the bright side my door is fixed and I fixed it by myself with a bit of help from Dad!...

Hay Keep good relations with Good old Dad. They are almost always willing to lend a helping hand. I know my Dad is. Also maybe take him out to lunch or dinner on you. He'll appreciate it. My Dad just read this with me. He said that "the tables have turned now He's getting the tools" LOL

i do mine the easy way
smile.gif

open the door,,grab hold of the grommet inside the cab,,pull back the one between the door and the cab and SNIP ! then i just put on sealed connectors when im done and then tape them up to be sure they don't get wet and short, then just slip the cover back on.
makes it easier for the next time you take it off, which unfortunately i know to much about

heh! I used to grab the tools and watch what my dad was doing... learning from watching him... now he's the one grabbing me the tools.

Last clutch job on his truck I believe I did most of it and he was grabbing the tools for me.
Now I come home from nightschool Auto tech classes I take at college, and teach him some new things i've learned.

I wonder if I'm the only member here, with their dad on the message board too. Where ya' at dogman?
