i was on evil bay motors, just lookin, had done a broad spectrum search like "chevy 4x4 truck" and was goin thru all the stuff and i came upon superlifts scratch & dent page....so i look at what all they have,..and to my surprise they had not 1 but 2 skyjacker, 73-87 k5/k10/k20/k30 transfer case lowering kit listed, so i clicky it to see what its all about, its only a 20 bill...
it states it is a transfercase lowering kit for 4-8'' lifts..they give the part # so i google it. summit has it for 28 bucks, & it looks like its just 3 pieces of square tubing,,you bolt together and replace the trans xmember, to "help" w/d-shaft angles.. it looks like it would drop the case like 4-5'''s! how the heck would that help the front at all....looks to me that it would put the front shaft in such a bind it would eat itself quickly(if you could even get it to bolt back together)...
distribitor would have to be against the firewall...i have learned to see such booty fab on wanna be 4 wheelers who know no better and no engineering background of any kind...but from a "respected"(clears throat) name brand company(super lift made mine & 1/2 dozen friends 8-12'' lifts..only company i know of that makes a 10 or 12" lift,...so thats where i bought my lift for my mud runner,...yrs ago)...
am i not seein the forrest b/c of the trees...am i not seein something? why would they even attempt to do this....so shadetree wanna be's can see it's made by an offroad company and say it must work...saw it on the interweb, must be true and correct! what is this booty fab work from a brand name offroad company? does it literally work the way it looks like it does...by droppin the case so much, that your binding up the front d-shaft and killing dist caps? you'd think an offroad company would stress doin sum'n right!
