So I got a 79 4wd dually with a plow over the weekend. Got it on the road yesterday, drove it to work today. So far the only thing that didn't work is the wipers, think it's a bad motor. Plow pump was low on fluid, also had water in it. So anyways, drive the truck to work, all is fine. Go to the junkyard to pick up a tranny and a 60 rear. Bout 3/4 of the way there, get death wobble something fierce. Slow the truck goes away, back on my way. Got it couple more times before got to the yard.
Got my parts, take off down the road, get it again. Starting to get irritated now. Slow down, let a car go by, go again, does it AGAIN. But this time the exhaust fell off. Not a big deal, was rusted anyways. Get that off, wobbles again, hit the brakes, blew a break line. WTF. This truck is staring to tick me off. Thought of parting it out already. So on my way again, locking up the front tires (blew the rear line) to get the tires to stop shaking. Finally hit smoother road, doing about 55-60, heard a small pop, then felt like lost all power. Started to smell something burning, shut it off and pulled it over. No juice at all. Alternator was overcharging the battery, smoked the battery, squirted battery acid on the rad hose.
Sh!tty part was, it was 4:30, had to pick my daughter up from daycare by 6. Didn't have my cell, nothing really close by to walk to. Called my sister at my parents, no answer. Sister was on the phone and didn't click over.
Picked her up, all is fine, just need to get the truck back home. Guess I needed to rant, don't mind me, desperately waiting for the weekend.....
