Hello I have been researching burbs here for the last few weeks, I needed something for expedition style wheeling so I settled on a Kburb. sold my jeep (colorado4x4.org I was orangecrush and wheeled with a few k5 guys on spring creek and out at CORE).

Any ways sold the built to the hilt jeep due to no room for family and dogs, sold my 1st gen cummins towrig and flatbed to simplify and decided on a k style burban. Even went and looked at Oldtoyboyds diesel burb however I decided on a 1991 gas burban.

Got off work at NAS Pensacola last night at 9pm drove 200 miles to my parents (was driving their loaner burban 1992) and get in there at 1am. then woke up at 5am and my dad and myself left at 6am for Memphis. where we met the guy I had been talking to about a cherry 1991 350 burban 1500. did the deal then I drove my new sunburban 400 miles and arrived back in Pensacola at 6:30 this evening. totalled 900 miles in a little over 21 hours to get this thing!

1991 1500 4x4 (158k miles) with 4" superlift 35" tires warn 12000 winch with brush guard, yakima snowboard and mountain bike racks, perfect interior and barn doors!:thumb:

Nice score! Great looking suburban! :waytogo:

Sounds like a heckuva trip, glad ya made it back safe and sound with a nice vehicle!

What are the plans for the 'burban?

rooftop tent, fridge and cook station in back, car pc with 7" touchscreen for GIS navigation and kid movies, 120volt inverter system it will stay at this height however I may go with some alcans in lieu of the superlift that it is on now and some tires that are more in tune with all terrain as opposed to the mud kings :)

f/r fabbed bumpers front for the winch (not keen on using a 12k winch that is attached to a brush guard lol)
rear will be a tire swing of some sort so I can use a full size spare

manual hubs with possibility of some kind of locker in rear

Looks like a great burb! Great starting point. Let's see some more pics!! How is that winch mounted? That rigs looks very clean!! Congrats!!

winch isnt mounted yet at all the PO took the brushguard and winch off when he bought the rig for his wife (she refused ot drive it too big for her)

so the winch and brush guard are in the back of it right now.

got the entire kit and kaboodle for 4k:woot:

Is that a K30? You don't need that winch, send it to me! Great deal. It should be perfect for what your wanting!! Send me that winch, how much?!!

With all that gear, it'd be a good idea to upgrade to 3/4 axles (14bff rear) to handle all the extra weight (or you could just go all the way to tons 'cause we know that's the ONLY way to build anything, LOL!). The 12K winch is perfect 'cause you need something strong to move all that weight if ya get stuck! Sounds like a fun build, keep us updated! Oh, and I just saw your $ post, wow, GREAT score!!! :thumb:

After I move back to Colorado in December I might be looking out for a set of 3/4 tons to drop in it:)

I definitely won't go crazy with it like I did my jeep :)

when you get out to colorado and want a set of 3/4 axles let me know. I have a set laying around out of a burb that won't be going anywhere right away.
what do you do on NAS? I'm a recruiter for the Navy in Grand Junction

I really like the looks of this rig. Even with the black running boards it looks good because its lifted. Good way to protect the paint on the rockers from chipping too... ya got me thinkin...
