what adhesive do you recommend to replace fender trim

you could probably use a double sided tape. thats how we would attach moldings when i used to work at a body shop. im sure you could get it at your local parts store. i think we used 3M it is rolled up and has a thin red plastic strip on one side that you peel off. might check that out as an option.

I prefer sheet metal screws.......

Seriously the factory trim "Clipped into place". At least on the 78 I had and on my 85. Is this trim aftermarket?

for glue...

can't be beat...

i've used that 3m double adhesive tape on trim before along with other items i wanted stuck to the truck, it works great, easy to use and once it sets up, it's on there for awhile

I imagine that 3m tube that ryoken posted will rival any 2 part epoxy, that stuff is tough.

Helped a friend pull off a 3rd brake light he mounted on top of his cab using the 3m adhesive and changed his mind about. We had to literally cut it off. The sections that gave up the ghost, did so because the plastic it was attached to broke off!

Keep me posted on the visor.. I may want to do that if I can just glue it in place..

The only concern I'd have would be the amount of wind drag pushing against the thing..

Even properly mounted, those visors see a lot of stress. I just don't see this stuff holding that well.

I use 3m yellow weatherstrip adhesive at work too. often enough I have a tube in my box. and the shop supplies it.

I give it a x3. once it sets up you be amazed at what it'll hold. maybe not for the wind drag of a cab visor. but its got beef.

the weatherstrip adhesive works great as a gasket cement too...

the other glue used alot for trim, depending on what the backing is, old doubled-sided tape, plastic, etc is emblem adhesive.....
