What Adhesive to use with OEM door Weatherstrips

What is the OEM style adhesive to use when bonding the OEM door weatherstrips to a 1970 GMC Jimmy. People have mentioned using 3M Super weather strip adhesive, I am not interested in using this. Used it before and not happy.

I'm with you on the 3M Super weatherstrip adhesive. IMHO, being polite, that stuff (yellow or black) is complete crap. Because I hold this opinion, I have been using Permatex brand weatherstrip adhesive for probably twenty years now with no complaints whatsoever. It tacks off quick enough, cleans up easily and doesn't "bleed apart" when it gets hot.

It is a part number 81850. Give it a try, I think you'll like it.

also try Gorilla glue in the clear version. Need to tape it in place but once its on there, it ain't coming off.
