So I got the dana 60 pulled apart today and found out that the previous owner broke or stripped at least one of the king pins and welded it in place. Unfortunately they weld worse than me and it broke. So now I need some options, do I buy a new housing or can it be repaired?

Worst case, find a used C or Reid Racing has brand new beefy ones.

But, before that, any chance you can tap/helicoil the threads?

Also, welding another one in is an ok way to fix things if the kingpin can be set in the right place. With a good welder of course

Well neither of the diff shops would weld a new tapered bushing in, and with the amount of money they wanted to weld in new inners I could have just bought another axle. So I found a guy who had quite a few new housings for sale on craigslist. So I got one for $450. I was planning on buying a master install kit, will that have everything I need to put it back together? Anything else I should consider changing?
