I was wondering what are the requirements for a 6in suspension lift, as far as brake lines, steering, drive shafts etc. This is for a 1990 blazer 1500

Depends on how much you want to spend.

The list varies from owner to owner. Main thing to take in consideration is what the rig will be used for.

you need a raised steering arm, longer brake lines (if ur short on money u can use stock one from a 2wd) and as for the driveshaft. u can use the stock one,but ull go through u joints every 2 months or so if u daily drive it. o ya, and u have to grind the front CV joint so it wont bind. i think thats about it.

i would go with a shackle flip (4") and a 3" block or springs,i highly recommend springs. if u do an even 6" lift front and rear you will have the typical saggy a$$ blazer. so 7" lift and it will look perfect. and for the front. just 6" springs. i would do tuff country for a nice ride.

where can i find a extended drive shaft and what size would you recommend for this amount of lift..thanks

theres a bunch of different sites that do shafts. when u extend it, put a CV in. the main thing is the angle is too steep for a stock driveshaft to work well. adding a CV (like the front shaft has) cuts the angles and it will last much longer. and less vibes.

What size tires? Are you willing to cut your fenders?

I run a 4in front spring, 4in shackle flip with 56in springs and zero rates front and back. Considering my proper shackle angles I'd say I'm sitting in around 4-1/2in of lift and running 36x12.5 tsl radials on 10in wheels. I do have cut fenders but they look perfect with the pocket flares I just got.

just finished up my 6 inch lift. i had the front TC ez rides in the front and in the back i have the 2 inch TC ez rides and the shackle flip and zero rates. the a$$ is still saggy so i think i am going to end up getting the longer shackles from kert. going to do that and see how much the front springs settle out. i got extended brake lines. topguncustomz.com out in Tennessee has a good deal on them. u get the fronts and rear brakes stainless braided tubes for 110 i think thats what i paid. my drive shafts aren't bad but plan on getting some later down the road just kind of spent all my money on the lift and tires. i am also running 37 1250 15 super swamper ssr's radial. they fill out the wheel well but its time to trim the fenders.
