What are these shroud stand off's for?

There are 2 of these standoff's on the top of the fan shroud on my 87 R10 suburban.
They look to me like something could have been bolted to them, but I don't remember ever coming across a chevy truck, blazer or burban with anything bolted to these, and honestly don't remember seeing them before.

Does anyone know what they were for?

Not sure about the one on the passenger side but the driver side was a factory clamp that held the radiator hose in place.

those two particular bolt holes held the high pressure ac line onto my 83, but a bolt only on the drivers side. My radiator hose holder was actually a different location on it, more towards the right angle bend on the drives side, simply a slit with a hole where the bracket went through. Can get pictures if need be.

May have been for some loops to hold the battery cable in dual battery setups :dunno:

I saw a truck that had the High pressure AC line mounted there also. It was always a good time trying to work on that POS. you had to kneel or lay right on top of it.:doah:

Try taking the fan shroud off with that ac line in place. Impossible! I put the shroud on before I put the core support back on! Lol.

Hmm, very interesting!
My A/C lines are strapped down to the alternator bracket, nicely out of the way of my knees!
Never thought about battery cables, I always saw them closer to the radiator support.

I am thinking I might build some sort of tool tray with quick release fasteners or magnets using those posts.
I hate working on junk and not having a central spot to put all the bolts and tools. Then you leave a socket or beer bottle under the hood!
